GarPax would have drafted Obi Toppin over PWill and Luka Garza over Ayo. This roster looks like the polar opposite of a GarPax team. To be fair, I was initially worried about Pax pulling strings behind the scenes when we overhauled our front office, but that's clearly been proven to not be an issue. during the draft or when they're making trades and signing guys? Is he influencing our roster construction in any meaningful way? My guess is no. Doug Collins is technically still a member of the org IIRC.Ĭan AKME use Pax as a soundboard to bounce ideas off of? Sure, and maybe they even run stuff by him on occasion out of respect, but is he in the war room with AKME, Polk, etc. I'm not sure if he's still with the org, but as of a couple of years ago Pax's brother Jim was listed as Director of Pro Personnel even though by all accounts he lives in a totally different state and has no involvement with the Bulls whatsoever. If you look through the Bulls' organizational structure, there appear to be a number of guys to who this applies to. Knowing Jerry and how loyal he is to his guys, I honestly think Pax's role is essentially an honorary title so he can technically continue to be a part of the organization and keep collecting checks from the Bulls. Pax never showed this type of creativity. I do think his voice still has respect (I actually believe signing Caruso was mostly Pax) but i don't think its a man behind the curtain deal really.ĪKME have been radically different style wise. I think he said we in a similar fashion as we do as fans. I think you may be looking too much into that. Pax may still have a big part in running things, just took a step back as the media face of the organization. It tells me what I have always suspected. Pax at one point says "When we hired AK and ME" Mark says Pax can't comment on any players not within the organization. RagingBull316 wrote:Interesting things I noticed.
